We ask that you visit MUSAC HOUSE OF CARING if you are in Sierra Leone. Invite family and friends to visit too. We always appreciate input and suggestions that will make things even better for the children residing there.

The annual fundraising on June 11,2011 was a success with good company, delicious food, fun and entertainment. Our Guest Speaker was Dr Violet  Showers –Johnson, Chair woman of the History Department of Agnes Scott College. She gave an inspiring talk on the importance of philanthropy.  Humanitarian awards were presented to Dr Christopher Beserve, Drs Anthony and Kathleen Raviele and Mr and Mrs Millern Jarrett-Thorpe for their continued support over the years.

We hope to see you at the next fundraising on April 28,2012.

VISITORS TO MUSAC HOUSE OF CARING

Several Board Members visited the Orphanage during the year to be sure it was operating well and funds were being used correctly. The most recent Board member to visit was Dr Mohamed Bayorh. Mr Donald Osman, President of Lead Global Organization who was our Guest Speaker in 2011 also visited.

Mr. Ade Thomas, Board Member visited and held a small Christmas Party for the boys and their friends and had the generator donated by the Prince of Wales Alumni installed as well as the television donated by Dr. Brian Wellington. The boys were thrilled and really enjoyed themselves.

 

Derrick   The former Chairman, Mr Derrick Williams will be returning to Sierra Leone to work for Sierra Rutile as a Project Engineer. We would like to thank Mr Williams for his hard work and dedication to the MUSAC House of Caring and wish him all success in his new position.

The then Chairman, Dr. Albert Tuboku-Metzger, his wife Catherine (from Atlanta) visited the orphanage in November/December, 2007, and also entertained the children for lunch at the BarMoi Hotel. During their visit to the hotel the boys were addressed by the owner and Manager, Dr. Sheku Kamara who spent the afternoon with them and gave them a very inspiring talk on what it takes to be a successful: hard work, diligence, faith and belief in oneself.


Mrs. Francess Easmon from London, England also visited in November/December, 2007, and again in January, 2008. She took gifts for the boys and also gave money from herself and her colleagues in London to upgrade the water well seen below.

Mr. David Musa, Director & Board Member visited the orphanage and also spent time visiting the other orphans in the country. He too, was quite pleased with the progress.
